5 Steps to Effectively Implement 5S:

Step 1: Establish a 5S Committee.

-The 5S Committee includes the representatives head of departments. Ensure the participation of everyone, including the leadership.

Step 2: Communication and train 5S.

-Banners and slogans are the best way to communicate and encourage the 5S movement at the workplace.

-Provide training courses on 5S awareness and the benefits of 5S for all staff and workers.

Step 3: Plan to implement 5S.

-Come up with ideas for implementing 5S, prepare necessary tools, assign areas, assign responsibilities, frequency of implementation and maintain 5S in each department.

-Implement a pilot in 1 department, evaluate before and after implementation, communicate and replicate the model throughout the Company.

 

Step 4: Assessment and reward 5S.

-Regularly and continuously evaluate 5S implementation to create a daily habit.

-Recognize and reward individuals and dept that perform well in 5S as activators and encourage the 5S spirit.
